Our people

Axis has developed an organization of amazing people.

Through our graduate recruitment initiative, our apprentice program and by attracting talent from within industry, we have the dedicated people to consistently deliver the level of service and performance our customers expect.

All our people have contributed to our Vision-Mission-Values and the Teamship Rules by which we expect ourselves and others to conduct their everyday duties, creating the right culture for high performing teams.

We invest in our people with training and coaching helping every individual achieve their potential.

Our customers

Our customers, and the supply chains they operate within, are at the centre of our world.

The belief that ‘Supply Chains Compete, not Companies’ shapes our behaviour to fully support the supply chain both upstream and downstream, enabling the entire supply chain to achieve its full potential and compete within the competitive global market.

We aspire to become a ‘true partner’ to all our customers by collaborating on innovative solutions to solve complex challenges, remove costs, reduce lead time, improve quality etc. all of which fosters a culture of trust in each other. In fact many of our customers have been working successfully with us for many years and we are able to positively contribute to their strategic plans for the future.

We engage with a number of organizations and industry groups to help develop our strategic initiatives and continuously add more value to customers, here are a few of these:

Our quality

Core to the culture of our business and our people is the principle of delivery ‘right first time, every time’.

We have over 100 internal performance indicators updated monthly to ensure our internal ‘value chain’ is performing in line with our expectations and in addition we communicate with our customers every month on our performance to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Our company KPI dashboard is supported by many departmental KPI dashboards reviewed monthly by our various teams.

To promote a culture of quality we have over 40 Six Sigma Yellow Belt members in our team, empowering and enabling localised decision making using industry recognised Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as DMAIC, 8D and SC21 CSIP.

Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) responsibility

At Axis, we take ESG and Social Value very seriously.

Our shareholders strive to conduct business in a socially responsible and ethical manner with high standards of personal and professional integrity.

ESG and Social Value guidance we recieve from customers and industry bodies help us shape our business to be a responsible company. We are actively engaged with the UK Government Social Value legislation which is  reflected within the evolving ADS SC21 framework and AS9100.

Axis is also very aware of its responsibility to the environment and as such we will play our part and contribute to the UK’s targets of cutting greenhouse gases by 34% and 80% by 2020 and 2050 respectively, against 1990 levels. To this end we are in the process of updating and enhancing our ‘Environmental Systems Manual’ to reflect the challenges we face and set new targets. We have an evolving Environmental strategy which is encapsulated in the Axis Electronics Environment Statement which is available as a download on this page.

Axis takes a leading role in recruitment of local school leavers through its Apprenticeship and Graduate schemes and we regularly present to local schools about careers within the UK manufacturing industry, Axis actively supports local charitable causes and hosts open days for local colleges.

Axis is working with customers to successfully implement the Public Services Act 2012 by ensuring compliance with contracts and recommending positive actions for our supply chain to contribute to the prosperity of the UK.
