Reducing Runway Incursions
 |
 |
 |
'High Rating - The technology exceeds the fullest expectations of the FAA and the demonstration plan. The contractor has convincingly demonstrated that the technology as demonstrated meets or exceeds the assessment criteria. An assigned rating of ‘High’ indicates that the technology essentially contains no weaknesses.
Ground Marker's potential for the reduction of Runway Incursions caused by pilot deviation, adaptability to the National Airspace System and its cost and maintainability, was rated 'High'. ' |

'It was almost as good as having a co-pilot familiar with the local environment….Overall, the system impressed us with how much information it conveys to the pilot without requiring them to spend a penny on additional avionics.
While confusion during ground operations for crews operating into and out of complex airports is nothing new, the current increase in runway incursions is a concern. It would be a benefit to have something cost effective that increases ground situational awareness. According to pilots that have used the system, Ground Marker fills that role.' |

Reducing Runway Occupancy

‘The results are remarkable! The runway occupancy times in these Cat 3 conditions match what I would expect to see in clear visibility. There is a definite feeling of more control because of the increased situational awareness.
This also means the Auto-Brake settings can be reduced for increased passenger comfort and decreased brake wear. I can think of no circumstances were this would decrease safety’ |
