Ground Marker is a fully independent system requiring no external support from transponders, GPS etc. The system may be stand-alone for smaller airports or as a complement to those operating advanced surface surveillance systems. Ground Marker is simple to implement; inductive loops, microwave, or any other detection method may be used as aircraft/vehicle triggers.
